Wild Orphans

W.A.L.T. write the main ideas from our reading

1.In the Tsavo National Park in Kenya there is an orphanage

for baby elephants whose mothers have been killed.

2.Hunters kill the mothers for their tusks.

3.Orphaned elephants are most often found in the bush close to the dead bodies of their mothers.
4. The keepers feed them on milk until they are 2 yrs old.
5. Baby elephants are called calves and they never forget their keepers.
